More Lens Experiments
In the first post about this, I used this rig attach the old lens to the digital SLR. This worked ok, but the camera was only sort of wedged into the end of the box, and was prone to fall out if I was not careful. Obviously, not a good situation. But the picture I got from the setup was interesting.
Over the last few weeks, I worked out a design in my head and acquired the necessary parts to build it. After a bit of sawing, dremel tool work, and spray painting, I built a rig that holds the camera securely. The first few photos with this setup have been very flat and washed out. Even though I painted the inside of the pipes black, there still must be light bouncing around inside. I wound up using the old box as a lens shade, which improved things a bit.
This lens has a radius of about 3 inches, and has a minimal amount of depth of field.
